The Child, It Grows

Name them or bury them,
them for whom the future is saved.
Optimism lost, infinite burials gained.
Don't know whether to name them or bury them.
Name them or bury them, immortalize or erase them.
Love them or tear them apart, limb by limb or heart by heart:
none quite captures the glory sought.
"Remove thyself from simple talk."
"What about us? What of our choice?"
Unwanted blessings too simply discarded
while the passionate laborers carry the weight
of a thousand boxed nurseries
on fragile and battered shoulders.
As things were before, though
with emptiness as a fresh companion,
weakly replaced for the image of you.

Plain Old Death
04:28

Even if wars didn't keep coming like glaciers,
even if hate wasn't ingrained deep within,
a march of Paul bearers would still flood the streets
with relentless certainty. There will be th'stench of lifeless
cadavers embodied in the hearts of man, blinded by
the notion of eternal life. A gift from their almighty.
A truth free from fallacy of which I quote,
I join the writers who believe they have the antidote.
A soulless venture with a bleak resolution.
No reward for your repentance.
No answers to your praying.
There is but one promise left unbroken.
An unlikely virtue, a search for resolve.
Unassisted and painful or by your own hands.
This alone is your guide to right.
There is but one device to disprove infinity.
